January 2014 We were awarded an “Exploration Grant” from the Boehringer Ingelheim foundation for the development of a project to to reconstitute the - ubiquitin modification system - through a synthetic biology approach. April 2013 Sophien Kamoun from The Sainsbury Laboratory (UK) gave an enlightening seminar “Don’t perish - writing a scientific paper for dummies” for the students. He also held an insightful talk on effector biology and evolution. “Writing a scientific paper is not about being a ‘good writer’. October 2012 Martin's paper "The Ubiquitin Ligase PUB22 Targets a Subunit of the Exocyst Complex Required for PAMP-Triggered Responses in Arabidopsis" was accepted for publication in the Plant Cell journal. June 2012 Giulia participated in the EMBO course in plant microbe interactions which was organized by the Sainsbury lab in Norwich UK.
